Dear Knox Premium customers,

This is a follow-up to our announcement on June 30th, 2018.

As the Samsung Knox platform and portfolio of business-enabling services continues to evolve we have decided to replace Knox Premium with a new service called Knox Manage.

For this reason, Knox Premium license orders will only be accepted until December 31st,

2018. And any license operation such as a quantity change or license extensions will not be available after December 31st, 2018 as all Knox Premium SKUs will be deleted.

Knox Premium service will cease on July 1st, 2020 so the monthly billing process will only continue until June 30th, 2020.

As identified in an earlier communication on March 26, 2018, the last date of Knox Premium service will be June 30, 2020. The last day that sales of Knox Premium licenses will be accepted is December 31, 2018. This notice is a request that you communicate this news with existing Knox Premium Resellers and Customers.

Pursuant to Section 13.1 of the Knox Reseller Agreement, written notice for cessation of sales(Attachment #1) should be sent to Resellers 6 months prior to End of Sales (by June 30th).

Please refer the attached Official Notice and communicate with resellers and customers prior to the automated notifications. Q1. What is the planned End Of Service timeline?
A1. Please see below for details.
- Customer EOS Notice : by June 30, 2018
- Last Order Date(LOD) : December 31, 2018
- Service termination : June 30, 2020

Q2. Until when can we sell Knox Premium license? Can we change the license quantity after cessation of sales?
A2. Knox Premium sales will be available until Dec 31, 2018. After that date, all Knox Premium SKUs will be removed in the SLM system, and no license operation including quantity change will be available.

Q3. What will happen to customers who are billed monthly?
A3. Any license operation such as a quantity change or license extensions will not be available after Dec 31, 2018 as all Knox Premium SKUs will be deleted. But the monthly billing process will continue until June 30, 2020 for existing customers even though Knox Premium SKUs will not be available. The end date of any service contracts will be changed to June 30, 2020 as the Knox Premium service will be terminated at that time.

Q4. After Knox Premium goes EOS (End of Service) on June 30, 2020, what will happen to the console and devices?
A4. The console will no longer be accessible, but the applied policies on the devices will remain. Note that all device commands sent from the console including the unenrollment command will no longer be availalbe after the EOS date. A factory reset will be required to remove applied polices on the device. To avoid confusion, we suggest to unenroll all devices prior to the EOS date.

Q5. We have a customer who would like to purchase licenses expiring before the EOS date, e.g., a license for 18 months. How can we support such case?
A5. In the case of monthly licenses, which are postpaid, Samsung supports a flexible license period. However, in the case of yearly licenses, which are prepaid, Samsung does not support a flexible license period, e.g., 18 months. If it is necessary to purchase a yearly license which will terminate after the EOS date, please make sure the reseller notifies the customer of the EOS plan so that the customer understands Knox Premium service terminates on June 30, 2020. For resellers who would like to avoid customer complaints due to insufficient communication, we would recommend to remove the 2-year license option in the order system.

Q6. Our customer has a license with an end date after the EOS date. What will happen to the license?
A6. After the EOS announcement 24 months prior to service end date, there will be no obligation to provide any support for remaining licenses, depending on each Knox Reseller's agreement with Samsung. Based on this legal statement, Samsung determined that the license will no longer be usable after the EOS date.

Q7. Can existing customers receive CS support?
A7. Yes, existing customers and/or resellers can get Samsung's support on the existing Knox Premium license. The ticketing system with the same process will be available till June 30, 2020.
